Excel Tutorials for Graphing

For more than one slope line on a graph

1.  Open up Excel
2.  FOR THE FIRST LINE
    a.  Type your data for time in column A
    b.  type your data for distance in column B
 

3.  FOR THE SECOND LINE
    a.  type your data for time in column C
    b.  type your data for distance in column D

4.  FOR THE THIRD LINE
    a.  type your data for time in column E
    b.  type your data for distance in Column F

5.  Highlight data????

6.  Go to "INSERT" and click on "chart"
7.  Click on the "XY(scatter)" and press "NEXT"
8.  Click on Series (from the taps above the graph)
9.  click "ADD" three times
10.  Select "Series 1"
        a.  Name the line (i.e. for the lab Walk in the Park, you would label your line NORMAL, or SLOW or FAST)
        b.  Click on the button in "X VALUES"
        c.  Select all you data in column A
        d.  Click the icon to the far right of the box
        e.  Click on the button in "Y VALUES"
         f.  Select all the data in column B
        g.  click on the button in the bottom right of the box

11.  Select "Series 2"
        a.  Name the line (i.e. for the lab Walk in the Park, you would label your line NORMAL, or SLOW or FAST)
        b.  Click on the button in "X VALUES"
        c.  Select all you data in column C
        d.  Click the button to thefar right of the box
        e.  Click on the button in "Y VALUES"
         f.  Select all the data in column D
        g.  click on the button in the bottom right of the box

12. Select "Series 3"
        a.  Name the line (i.e. for the lab Walk in the Park, you would label your line NORMAL, or SLOW or FAST)
        b.  Click on the button in "X VALUES"
        c.  Select all you data in column E
        d.  Click the button to the far right of the box
        e.  Click on the button in "Y VALUES"
         f.  Select all the data in column F
        g.  click on the button in the bottom right of the box

13.  Click on "NEXT"
        a.  Title the chart
        b.  Title the X axis
        c.  TItle the Y axid
 
14,  Click on "NEXT"
        a.  click on "AS NEW SHEET"
        b.  click on "FINISH"

15.  Right click on one of your points and click on "ADD TRENDLINE"
        a.  Select "LINEAR" and click on "OK"
 
16.  Right click on another one of your points and click on "ADD TRENDLINE"
        a.  Select "LINEAR" and click on "OK"

17.  Right click on the last points and click on "ADD TRENDLINE"
        a.  Select "LINEAR" and click on "OK"

18.  Copy and paste on your binder after the instructions about creating the graph.
        a.  Click ok
        b.  Select "LOW"
