Proceed to the communications area.
    COMMUNICATIONS AREA
    1.  Energy Waves all Around:  Which sample has the most gamma rays (radioactivity)?  W hat wave has the highest frequency?  What wave has the lowest?
 
 
 
 

    STRUCTURES AREA:
    1.  Conserve Energy:  List three ways you can conserve energy in your home.
 
 
 
 

    2.  Don't trash It:  What items in the bin cannon be recycled?
 
 
 
 

Earthquake Simulator and Video:  Give on example of a structural feature of ScienCenter that makes it safe in an earthquake?
 
 
 
 
 

Once you go up the escalator, turn left on the second floor and eneter the World of Life Exhitbit.

Control Center Exhibit
    1.  In the plant control exhibit - how can plants respond to gravity?
 
 

 Proceed to the left of the control center exhibit under the "Plants React Too" section.
    1.  Explain how plants react to gravity and to light.
 
 
 

Proceed to the The Life Source Area.
    1.  Look at the DNA model.  What color in the model corresponds to what base?
 
 

Proceed to the "Pump It Up" exhibit.  Turn the cranks on this exhibit.
    1.  How much blood pressure  does it take to reach a human brain versus a giraffe?  Why?
 
 
 
 
 

    2.  Next the the "Pump it Up exhibit, you will find a model of a human heart.  How many chambers is a human heart and name all the chambers.
 
 
 
 
 

Proceed to the "Plant Pipeline"  Exhibit.
    1.  What property of water molecules allow them to move through the plants xylem tubes?
 
 
 

    2.  Look at the moving food exhitbit.  Nex to the sticky water section - calculate the spped of sap flow in 15 hours.  (Show all your work)
 
 
 
 
 
 

Proceed up the stairs to the 3rd floor to the TRANSPORTATION AREA.
    1.  Choose the Fuel. List the 4 fules available for use in automobiles.  Write one questions and its answer.
 
 
 
 

 Go to the Special exhibit section on the 3rd floor "Target America: Opening Eyes to the Damage Drugs Cause."
    1.  Go to "The Brain Chemistry of Additction"  What is the role of dopamine in the brain?
