Kindergarten students are learning the basic skills required to use a computer. This forms the foundation that we build on throughout the year. They are learning to control the mouse and when it is necessary to click and double click. They began by selecting, opening and closing a program. They are becoming comfortable with the menu bar and where things are located. The students are learning to click and drag. They are learning to type their names on a Microsoft Word Document. They are experimenting with the different font sizes and will explore the different fonts available. They discovered that the backspace key erases their mistakes. They will begin to reinforce their curriculum by creating computer art that will correspond with the topics learned in the classroom.
