First Grade Sample Projects

 

September:

The first Grade students are using the different fonts, sizes, and colors to type words and sentences. They will use this skill to create acrostic poems and other typed assignments. They are learning to center a title on the page along with the left and right alignment tools. The students used KidPix to draw a leaf and label it.

October:

Students will be learning the correct fingering for word processing. They are learning the home row and how to stretch and curl their fingers to reach the different letters as they type. They are using the Type to Learn Jr. software.

November:

Students are continuing to learn the correct fingering to word process. They used Kid Pix to create a Thanksgiving picture which included a typed message.

December:

Students have received a certificate upon completing the Type to Learn lessons. They are continuing to practice the touch type method while doing the activities included with the software.
