8. Main conflict in the book:
Shasta wants to find out who he is and escape Calormen with Bree. They also need to warn Archeland of the Tisroc’s attack

9. Setting of the book: (place and time)
The story takes place in Calormen, Archeland, and Narnia during the Golden Age of Narnia, when Peter was High King and ruled with his brother and sisters.

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Shasta- The main protagonist that is trying to find his true identity and travel to the North.

(2) Bree- Talking horse kidnapped from Narnia who tells Shasta about Narnia and becomes his companion.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting?
Shasta is a believable character because he can be separated from his twin and he makes mistakes. Bree isn’t because horses can’t talk. Also, they both are very interesting. Bree is captured from Narnia to be enslaved by a noble, but he manages to escape with Shasta. Shasta is interesting because he tries to find out who he is and tries to find out where he belongs.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: “For this is what it means to be a king : to be first in every desperate attack and last in every desperate retreat, and when there’s hunger in the land to wear finer clothes and laugh louder over a scantier meal that any man in your land.” (King Lune pg.223)

13. Good reasons to read the book:
It is entertaining and easy to read. Also, it teaches lessons about the importance of friendship.

14. Any reasons not to read the book?
There is no reason not to read this book, but I suggest that the series is read in order so that it makes sense, and the reader has the proper background information.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
I loved this book because it had lots of interesting events, like when Bree and Shasta were chased by lions. It does not get boring because there is action throughout the story. I can also relate to Shasta because we are both young boys who have a lot to learn about life.
