8. Main conflict in the book: The evil white witch wants to avoid completion of the prophecy. The prophecy is that when the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve come to Narnia, Aslan the great lion and the rightful king will return light and warmth to the land. During a game of hide and seek, Lucy discovers Narnia on accident and shows her siblings. After a Turkish delight with white witch, Edmund is convinced to bring his siblings to Narnia. But little does he know that the white witch wants to destroy them. The main problem is that the white witch wants to kill the Pevansie children and keep Narnia evil and cold where it’s always winter and no Christmas. The children are faced with a conflict of good and evil, and of loyalty and betrayal.
9. Setting of the book: (place and time)
The story takes place in London during the Nazi Luftwaffe attacks and bombings. The children are sheltered in Professor Kirke’s home and the world of Narnia is located in one of the professor’s closets.

(1)Susan and Peter Pevansie help save Narnia and aid Aslan in war against the white witch.
(2)Lucy Pevansie discovers Narnia and befriends Mr. Tumnus and the beavers that help them on the way
to meet Aslan.

Aslan. He was supposed to be executed because of that. He fights against the white witch during
the war.
(4) Aslan is a majestic lion and king of Narnia. He sacrifices his own life to save Edmund.
11. Are the characters believable and interesting? Yes the characters are very interesting because they overcome many realistic hardships and adventure that makes them so believable.
12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: (include who said it, page number, and use Quotation marks!)
“For never since we four were kings and queens of Narnia have we set our hands to any high matter ….but what we have taken in hand, the same we have achieved. Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia!” (p 187)This quote is stated by Peter Pevansie .He states this after they became rulers of Narnia and are grown up. This quote states what the Pevansies have accomplished since they became rulers of Narnia.
13. Good reasons to read the book: There are many illustrations to guide you along the story. Also, this book doesn’t have too much dialect. Lastly, in the middle of the book, is a short segment of pictures and main points of the book.
14. Any reasons not to read the book? If you have already watched the movie, I don’t recommend this book unless you want to compare them.
15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
Yes I loved and enjoyed this book because it was interesting and the characters were believable. Also, the story puts you in the same place and time as Narnia and the characters. Lastly, the words are descriptive so that you can visualize the setting and event without the pictures.
