6. Genre: Fantasy
7. Student rating of the book (1 the highest, 5 the lowest): 2

8. Main conflict in the book: Meggie reads her self into the book, Inkheart. Her parents also become stuck in the story. Can they find a way out safe and sound?

9. Setting of the book: (place and time) Italy, the Inkworld, or the world of the book, Inheart, Modern day

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Meggie is a 14 year old girl who, like her father, Mo, has the power to read characters out of a book. She has been practicing her writing so that not only will she be able to read characters out of a book, but also send them back in.

(2) Farid is an Arabian boy who was read out of Tales of Arabian Nights. He has a soft spot for Meggie, who is two years younger than him.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? The characters are very interesting because of their special powers. For instance, Meggie and her dad, Mo, or Silvertongue, can read characters out of a book with their voice.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: “He [Farid] put his arm around her [Meggie], sensed her fear, her anxiety, her anger…It was as if he could hear her heart whispering as clearly as the voice of fire.” (page 438)

13. Good reasons to read the book: If one likes a long book, this is a wonderful book to read because it is thick. Also, it has many plots and makes the reader think about what the original book written by Fenoglio, Inkheart, is really about. It also painted pictures in my imagination like no book has before.

14. Any reasons not to read the book? To me, there are no reasons to not read the book because it was well-written.

15. Did you like this book or not? And why…. I would say this book is one of my favorites because it has love, war, mystery, and comedy in it.
