Helen Keller, the main character in the book overcame her disabilities to become the first blind and deaf person to graduate from college with honors.
Annie Sullivan, the teacher that taught Helen sign language.
Are the characters believable and interesting? Yes, Helen’s character was interesting and believable because as a disabled person, she accomplished a lot and should be an inspiration to all of us. I also thought that Annie’s character was interesting, because she had faith in Helen and helped her become successful in life.
“Something tells me that I’m going to succeed beyond my wildest dreams.” Annie Sullivan said (pg 44).
Good reasons to read the book: There are many good reasons to read this book because this book shows that anything is possible if you just work at it, even if you are disabled like Helen Keller.
Any reasons not to read this book: If you are not interested in learning about people who overcome difficult challenges to become successful in life, then this book wouldn’t be the right choice for you.
