clues to determine what was going on.

9. Setting of the book: (place and time) approximately 1989 in Claiborne

10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1) Amy Treloar; while visiting Aunt Clare for a week and a half, Amy discovers a mysterious
dollhouse in Aunt Clare’s attic. She soon discovers it is not an ordinary dollhouse. Things are
moving in there. Are the dolls trying to give clues of how Grandma and Grandpa Treloar died?
Read the book to find out.
(2) Ellen Kramer; Ellen is Amy Treloar’s new friend. She helps Amy investigate the attic where the
doll house was stored, and she also assists Amy when they look through old newspapers in the

(3) Aunt Clare; while living with her grandparents, Clare’s grandparents die in a mysterious
accident. Clare’s doll house, given to her on her 15 birthday, starts giving the Treloar household
clues as to what might have happened during this mysterious death.

11. Are the characters believable and interesting? I believe the characters are believable and
interesting. While I was reading this book I felt like the actions in the story were going on right outside
my bedroom.

12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: “Books fall,” Louann murmured. “The poor dolly is crying.” (pg.104) This was quoted by Louann Treloar.

13. Good reasons to read the book: The book was very interesting and realistic. The story plot was
direct not leading the main plot on other funny trails. It wasn’t too long, but just long enough. It took
me 2 long days to read it.

14. Any reasons not to read the book? The only thing a little scary about the book was that things
weren’t very predictable at all. I suggest not reading this book at night before you go to bed. It can give
you the chills!

15. Did you like this book or not? And why…. I really enjoyed this book. Not only did it take me
two days to read it, but it took two days for me to understand it. I highly suggest it to anyone over
the age of 10. It seems from its title it’s a silly doll book, but I believe it is really intense.
