3. Complete Book Title: The Anybodies
4. Author of Book: N. E. Bode
5. Year the book was published: 2004
6. Genre: fantasy
7. Student rating of the book (1 the highest, 5 the lowest): 1
8. Main conflict in the book: Fern and her dad are trying to find a book named The Art of Being an Anybody, but the Miser, an enemy to her dad, is going after it too. The book tells how to pretend to be somebody else. For example, a professional Anybody can turn into a child.
9. Setting of the book: (place and time)
Most of the events occurred in Fern’s grandmother’s house and it all took place during the summer.
10. Main Characters and part they play in the book:
(1)Fern
(2)Fern’s dad
(3)Miser
11. Are the characters believable and interesting?
All of these characters are unbelievable and interesting. Starting with Fern, she can somehow pull things out of books, which is out of the ordinary, yet remarkable. Her dad can hypnotize people and can become anybody or anything, sometimes. Miser can do what Fern’s dad does, except he can’t stop from turning into anything.
12. One excellent direct quotation from the book: (include who said it, page number, and
quotation marks!)
“I love you, too,” Fern said, and she knew it was true because love was the ingredient that brought him back. (p. 258)
13. Good reasons to read the book:
This book is perfect for almost everyone. It is very fun, adventurous, and exciting. With all of the fun and adventure jumbled inside of it, you won’t become tired of it. If you are looking for adventure and a great ending, then stop whatever you are doing and start reading this book.
14. Any reasons not to read the book?
Since some people have different opinions, there are some reasons not to read this book. First of all, if you don’t like to read about fantasy then you should read a more realistic book than this. Also, if you like romance, drama, or anything other than adventure and fun then don’t read this book. Other than that, I highly recommend this book.
15. Did you like this book or not? And why….
I loved The Anybodies because I usually don’t really like to read, but this book made me want to keep reading because it was so mysterious, exciting, and overall great. I liked how the author made it very descriptive and made you really use your imagination. When I was reading The Anybodies, I felt like I was in a whole new world where almost anything could happen.
